In total, Portsmouth Short Film Night #9 will pack eleven inspiring, engaging, thought-provoking, funny and eye-opening short films into two hours of movie magic. As well as the films from far away the line-up include films from Indiana and New York and local works by filmmakers who will be attending the screening and participating in Q & As with the audience. Voluntario is a snappy comedy about parents who want to urge their 30-something lay-about son on to better things and a beautiful animation, Toro, about the history of the bullfight. Alongside this work from Canal180 there are two more great films with a Spanish flavor. The line-up for PSFN #9 is selected from the hundreds of submissions they receive every month and this time around it features a heart-thumping headliner documentary about the Optimus Primavera Sound music festival in Porto featuring Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Glockenwise, Metz, Svper and Wild Nothings. PSFN has been held at PPMtv, The Press Room, The Public Library and White Heron Cafe amongst other spaces.Īs always the line-up for PSFN #9 is a mix of fiction and nonfiction shorts by filmmakers from New Hampshire, across the country, and around the globe. Since PSFN’s first event in the gallery of 3S Artspace in February 2013, just prior to the building closing for construction, the creative team behind the short film event has be excited to return to the fully renovated space in the cities North End. Cinema lovers get a front-row seat to emerging and established talent from around the world.
